the Lost Dogs

The Dogs started up as the Wilbury-esque one-shot deal comprised of the lead singers / guitarists from four of the most respected alternative Christian bands:
  • Terry Taylor from Daniel Amos
  • Gene Eugene from Adam Again
  • Derri Daugherty from The Choir
  • Mike Roe of The 77's

Now Terry and Gene had worked together for years and Derri used to be the sound guy for Daniel Amos back in the early 80's. And all three of them were from the Los Angeles area. Mike is from San Francisco and was barely acquainted with the others when they decided to put this group together. Their first album Scenic Routes came out in 1992 and had a fun but disunified feel. Other albums continued to come out as the Dogs slowly began to evolve into a real band with a distinctive style to be taken seriously.

Then suddenly in March of 2000, Gene was found dead in his recording studio. The three surviving Dogs went back to the studio to record Real Men Cry in tribute to Gene. They have continued to tour and record together and are still a great band.
